Walden HS DanceTeam

The heralded Walden Grove High School Dance Team will give one performance at Rancho Resort, Sunday, March 23^rd at 4:30 p.m., sponsored by the Rancho Resort Rowdies. The group will be performing two weeks prior to its appearance at the conference of the National School Board Association in New Orleans.

Called “The PAC” the group’s appearance in the Rancho Resort Ballroom will be FREE to residents and guests but tickets will be required. Seating will be limited to 170 persons. Tickets will be available beginning March 1 in the Activities Office through usual application procedure.

Walden’ dance program, under the direction of Kristi Lopez, a dance graduate of the University of Arizona, is only two years old and the PAC has received numerous state-wide awards. Its upcoming appearance in New Orleans on April 4 is by special invitation from the president of the National School Board Association who saw them perform in Tucson in January.

Money raised from donations and fund raisers is to pay for travel and living expenses for the 17 member troupe to the Big Easy. The PAC has been soliciting donations, giving performances and helping groups to obtain funds. According to Kathy Lafferty, president of the Rancho Rowdies, “This event is a chance for the Rowdies to do something for our community and to help show the country the kind of talent we have right here in Sahuarita”.

There will be a basket at the door for donations/contributions if you would like to help with their travel expenses.
